TRRW Workshops Now Open!

Three Rivers Romance Writers First Online Workshop is now open!

Workshop: Facebook: It’s Not Just For Cat Videos

September 5-30

Cost: $15 TRRW members; $25 RWA members; $35 non-members

Course Description: 4 week course

Are you unsure how to best utilize Facebook to help gain noticeability (did I just make up that word?) as an author? Or the differences between an author page and a private page? Or why you just can’t seem to get traction on Facebook? Or maybe you haven’t made many connections. Have you learned how to utilize Facebook to connect to bloggers or groups to help promote your novels or yourself, the author?

This extensive workshop will discuss those topics and so much more. Facebook is a FREE social media platform that reached 1 billion users worldwide in September 2015. If you’re an author and not taking advantage of this site, you’re missing out on a great place/opportunity to reach readers, bloggers, and peers that doesn’t require a dime out of pocket.

Just a few of the many topics covered in this four week workshop:
◾Differences between author and private pages and the tasks that can and cannot be done on each.
◾Hosting event parties.
◾Joining event parties as guest authors and how to find them as well as what do you post to get the party attendees to take notice of you.
◾Donating to Facebook events.
◾Making connections with industry professionals and following industry professionals and why it’s so important.
◾Joining Facebook groups appropriate for your genre and why.
◾Contacting bloggers on Facebook to make the most of your novel release and what they expect when you make that connection.
◾Paid boosts and ads, are they worth it, and how to target? And which ads you don’t want to waste your hard earned money on.
◾Hosting contests and self-promoting within those contests.
◾Participating in author and blog hops.
◾Appropriate and inappropriate posting.
◾Supporting your fellow author and sharing their work. Why that benefits you.
◾Opening up your personal page to fans and why I feel it’s necessary.
◾Likes for Likes – the pros & cons.
◾And so much more!

Along with the lessons, workshop attendees will be given a list of Facebook links for groups that every author should join to have in their promo arsenal, as well as what to look for and how to search for groups that will benefit what you need to help promote you and your novel. Attendees will also be given a list of Facebook blog pages that are very author friendly and approachable to help get you started in creating a reference list. And the biggest lesson, how not to get time sucked into Facebook or any social media platform, which can be too easy to do, losing precious time meant for writing.

All attendees will be encouraged to participate and ask questions. “Homework” with each lesson will be to help everyone gain a better knowledge and get more comfortable with Facebook and all that’s available.
